Doctor Charlie writes:

Here’s what we’ll hear in today’s 1134th edition of BSS: for the third and last time, we’ll dig into the STARDAY / DIXIE label archives from 1957-1961, coming to the end of the series we started on November 8th. Next to that, we’ll hear many tracks from Jerry Lee Lewis’ brand new album, “ROCK & ROLL TIME”, which shows that even at being nearly 80, he still is “The Killer”.
Once again, I’ve been able to add (under each track) the release date (year and month) as well as the reference number of the original single, not forgetting the title of the B-side of each of the historical 45 rpm vinyl records from Starday / Dixie.
Many thanks to Chris Beckrow and Michael Woods. We entirely owe them the tracks played today.

Doctor Charlie writes:

With help from our regular collaborator Chris BECKROW, we’ll dig further into the DIXIE label archives from 1957-1961. DIXIE was a subsidiary of STARDAY, the second big record label next to SUN, specialized in white rock and roll and rockabilly from the fifties.
As it was the case these last few weeks, jewels from the COLUMBIA label during this great era will fill the track listing.
Once again, I’ve been able to add (under each track) the release date (year and month) as well as the reference number of the original single, not forgetting the title of the B-side of each of these historical 45 rpm vinyl records.
